The load-and-haul operation can be seen as a continuous cycle that is made up of different production steps or activities. The load-haul cycle time is the total time to complete a full cycle from where the truck gets loaded and then travels to where they ‘dump’ the material and then travel back to the loading area.
The purpose of the loading and hauling stage is to move material previously fragmented by the drilling and blasting process. The process consists firstly of loading the material from the bench or working face of the mine into trucks.Transporting this material to its destination (stockpile, waste dump, or processing plant) is the next step, this is done by using a haul road that is specially designed and maintained to accommodate large haulage trucks.
